Lexapro and Interactions

Hey all....Is Lexapro ok to take with Flonase and Claritin daily? I had weaned myself off about a year ago and my anxiety is back and off the charts since a bad bout of bronchitis and lingering cough and chest tightness. My lungs are clear but my anxiety is through the roof so I want to begin my Lexapro again and need to make sure these meds won't interact. Just worrying about this is making my anxiety worse. I just want to feel calm and happy again.
I'm also curious about supplements...Do you guys take supplements with your SSRI's?

Most SSRI'S can be taken with OTC allergy meds...

...but to be on the safe side, it is best to consult with your pharmacist, who can give the best answer to this question.

The same goes with supplements....many are fine, but some combinations are better avoided...so, again your pharmacist, or an interaction checker site such as this can help.

Welcome to the forum but sorry to hear you are having anxiety again.

As SC mentioned you should be fine taking your Lexapro with OTC meds and supplements but it's always worthwhile checking with your pharmacist beforehand.

Sound advice from above.

You can usually phone the pharmacist about the drugs and what's OK to add with it so you know straight off .. Then u can get started.

The interaction checker is pretty helpful for supplement advice with your current meds .. Soon puts your mind at ease.
