It is not all that unusual...you are having basically the same fear as one who worries about driving/flying (control being at the root of the issue)...just on a grander scale!
Maybe not many of us worry about universe type catastrophes...but it probably is just not on the average person's radar...because it is more of an abstract thought.
You can combat these worries like any other kind, through therapy skills, such as the Thought Challenging Worksheets...found in our Resources. (Therapy Worksheets Link) Reducing overall stress levels through the general anxiety management coping skills (Stress Relieving Exercises Link) will also help! :)
