Feeling dizzy when I close my eyes at night and not much sleep . Help from those who can't sleep or

I am not sure if this from the insomnia which has been almost 4 months. I feel like my head spins i have to take some Xanax to sleep and more in the middle of the night. I also have been in 5mg of Lexapro for 10 days and before that 2.5 for 3 weeks. Is it part of the lack of sleep that is affecting my brain or side effects of the Lexapro. I usually wake up 3 times at night and I go back to sleep even then I feel the dizzy heavy head feeling. I don't feel that during the day. Any input would be appreciated.

It alsmost sounds like when I get vertigo.

Try closing your eyes and tilting your head to either side. If you feel the same effect, you may want to to talk to your doctor about the possibility of this benign inner ear issue. There are exercises you can do for relief.

If you rule this out, then you can probably chalk it up to startup effects of your Rx...that will hopefully phase out soon.

I have had vertigo before in two occasions, but it happens also during the day. This is just at night.

I am experiencing the same issue lately, not happening every single night.

It's causing huge anxiety but I was told by someone who had inner ear issues that this is something related with head movements and how your inner ear fluids (more like the crystals in that fluid) is reacting in a bad way.

Some have it with severe vertigo, some experience it as mild dizziness as you do, and only at night time.
Though I will be visiting an ENT specialist soon to ask about it, since I also have tinnitus at left ear and some jaw/neck pain.
