Ive only ever felt this maybe one other time, where im feeling pretty good. And then i just get this overwhelming sense that something horrible is going to happen. Like something TERRIBLE.
Ive been in the hospital 7 times in the last two weeks because of muscle strain, shortness of breath and my pvcs are back with a vengeance. Ive got 9 EKGS inuding cardiologist office ones in the last 3 weeks.
So that should make me feel better right?
You'd think so.
I just cannot shake this feeling that something horrible is going to happen today.
I think its because i was hoping to go one weekend without a hospital visit. And i feel like i should go now when i felt fine just this morning!
Is this a common anxiety symptom? Im terrified right now. My entire body feels on edge and im not use to this...

Mel,
I am sorry you are going through this. 😯 I understand how hard this is.
Does your feeling of doom center around a health related episode?
Have you been through therapy and/or self help for health anxiety? (sorry, I can't remember) If not, I do recommend doing so...or revisiting the practice again.
How about
medication? Perhaps it's time to consider this...or talk to your doctor about
an evaluation/adjustment?
Let us know how we can be of support to you at this time!

SC, my anxiety revolves around my heart.
My PVCs, my slight murmur. Which are actually very common, but to me, it terrifies me.
After researching for an hour, i actually feel almost 100% better and KNOW it was my anxiety.
I recently upped my dosage of Cymbalta, and i think its too much for me and causing this increased anxiety/sense of doom.
The side effects, especially this specific one are just too much for me. Ive decided to call my PCP tomorrow and leave her a message respectfully asking to stop the medication completely as the lower dose doesn't work at all anymore.

Good...I am so glad you are going in...and hope you and your doctor can come up with an alternative plan for you.
Hugs and high fives,

My anxiety revolves around my heart as well. I can't even remember the amount of times I've been to the ER or doctors. I've been cleared of any heart issues by two different cardiologists as well as my PCP. That sense of doom you describe was one of the hardest things for me. I couldn't really explain it but I just felt like something catastrophic was going to happen (like a heart attack or my heart just stopping).
Medication helped me a lot. I take Celexa 20mg daily and I was feeling a lot better. Then my PCP upped my dose to 40 and that doom feeling came back tenfold. We're back to 20 and I started seeing a therapist and getting counseling and it's been wonderful. I highly recommend it!
I hope you find some peace and ease soon. It's a terrible thing to feel like that.

I have health anxiety I strongly believe. I have had chest pains, shakes, and stomach pain. My stomach pain has been horrendous. It started as pelvic pain and now it is stomach pain. I had a vaginal ultrasound normal, a complete CBC count with lypase, anylase, bilrubin, cholesterol heart everything was done and according to doctor it looks good. But she is still going to do a cat scan to cover all bases but I am sitting here thinking why! Why is she doing this! Does she see something she is not telling me. Is she lying to me? I cry everyday and there is a part of me that wants the caravan but then there is a part that does not! I am so afraid she will find something that will kill me! I spent 3 hours at my parents crying! I have a fear of everything
