Hello Mrs. Worried.
I have been battling pretty bad GERD for a few years now. As like you I never really get the "heartburn" feeling but always feel like everything is up in my chest and feel like I could vomit at any given time. It is a very difficult thing to try and get used to and I dont honestly think you ever can get used to it.
Medications have helped some. I have been on Nexium for a few years now and can not remember off top of my head what others I have used and tried. I can most definitely tell the days I skip it so I know it helps.
There is a GERD forum on here I am sure you have checked out by now and there is some helpful stuff there and alot of support for us acid breathers.
Also, when I am having an anxiety type of day, which seems like all the time lately, the GERD symptoms do get worse which in turn makes the anxiety worse. Its a nasty cycle that I pray nobody ever has to go through.
Hope you get to feeling better soon
