Fluttering in chest

Just wondering if anyanoe gets fluttering in chest or flopping. Hard to explain like an air pocket flutters ?? It's been happening all day on and off.

Anyone ?

Those are most likely PVC's. Google that, they are fairly harmless and supposedly everyone gets them. Not everyone notices them though. And some people get more than others. I notice most of mine, and have identified triggers. Certain food additives and caffeine can make them worse. I'm guessing this is what you are feeling though, so I wouldn't worry too much! (Easier said than done.) Technically PVC's are an extra, early beat, but they feel more like a missed beat, or perhaps a flutter. Google that, and see if you think it fits.

Yes I'm thinking it's that. It scares me. I have had text for my heart and my dr. Never told me I have that. All test normal. Are you sure this is not dangerous ???

I was first bothered by these in my late teens. I am now approaching 52. They haven't stopped me yet! I did have several rounds of testing, including wearing a Holter monitor for a week. That did catch the PVC's, and my doctor said they were harmless. If your heart testing came back fine, I'm sure you are okay. If they bother you, try experimenting with your diet/etc, and avoid foods that seem to trigger them. Good luck!

Thank you so much for responding. I hate that I have to worry about this now. It's already bad that I'm convinced something is wrong with my heart. Never ends sad. I thought maybe it was acid reflex. Cause my dr. Never told me I have this. Is there anything I can do to make my heart beat properly

Acid reflux will exacerbate this problem, but the good news is that acid meds, even over the counter ones, can help. Stress will make it worse, so anything you can do to relax will also help. In time, you will get used to this sensation.

Oh Betsy it terrifies me. I know it's normal I know lots of people get it. I just can't accept it

I sometimes (rarely) get a flutter in my chest related to my breathing. I always had this even as a kid before I had anxiety. The last time I got it though I noticed that I can reproduce the symptom by pushing on my sternum. I think all that deep breathing I was doing made my sternum sore and crackly. As I breath in and out my chest expands and my sternum cracks. It actually feels like the cracking is located at my heart or my lungs are bubbling with liquid inside them.

Yes - heart palpitations and/or tachycardia.

I actually had tachycardia so bad that I collapsed.

I was given propranalol for the tachycardia. I don't have it anymore thanks to my anxiety being under control. I probably don't even need the propranalol anymore.

No no, no scares. You can have heart palpitations or tachycardia and be fine. The point is, know what is happening to your body, acceptance of what is happening and then doing something about it. If this is a problem for you, it can be fixed and not to worry. If this is not tachycardia or palpitations and just another sensation, then you feed that back to the doc, figure out what it is and of course, do something about it. Also, you're not dying and you're not having a heart attack. It's all apart of the anxiety unfortunately.
