Switch from lexapro brand 10mg to generic escitalopram

Anyone have some words of advice? I made the switch two nights ago as I just couldnt afford paying for this medication out of pocket. Ive been on brand name for 1.75 years and lets just say I kind of regret switching. I just feel like the medication isnt working like its supposed to.. I had an impending doom feeling since this afternoon that I cant shake and I dont know what to do. Anyone thats been in a similar situation I would love to hear your feedback. I'm just hopeless at the moment and feel like i've broken myself once again.

I am sorry to hear of your current challenge.

Some people do notice a difference when switching from name to generic brand Rx's. While the key components of the medication stays the same...subtle compounding differences can be noted by sensitive patients.

I would give it a bit of time. I think you'll make the switch with some patience and use of coping skills to help you adjust.

Sorry to hear of your current challenges.

Doctors will tell you there is no difference between brand and generic but I think there is and have found that with many medications which I have switched to generic.

Keep an eye on things and if things don't improve go back and see your doctor.
