Hi Charloco and welcome!
I am sorry to hear of your current pain, and the challenge it is posing for you as one who suffers with health anxiety. I know how this feels, and it is very difficult.
What anxiety can do is put us on red alert
for a number of issues that are more than likely benign, explainable...treatable.
That's the good news...the less than great news, is that without treatment, health anxiety can take us on quite a ride...making us vulnerable to 'worst case scenario' thinking.
I would recommend continuing to treat for the heartburn, as this might be a matter of needing to stay the course a bit longer for results. Or, it could be just a part of the issue...
...anxiety also contributing with co-morbid symptoms.
So also seeking to manage and treat the health anxiety/general anxiety will be a goal as well.
What if anything have you done thus far for relief? Medication, therapy and self help are the usual treatments of choice.
You can talk to your doctor regarding the first two...
...and get started on the self help right away by checking out our Resources at the top of the main forum page here! We have links specifically for health anxiety...as well as great stress reduction material for overall decompression.
Keep posting here as well if you find it helpful. We understand, care and support is key!
