Hydroxyzine for Anxiety

Does anyone here use hydroxyzine to manage anxiety? What dose? How often? Any side effects, like sleepiness?

Hi

Hydroxytine is a first-generation antihistamine and I know a lot of members have had good results with it so give it a go I think it can make you tired so may be best taken at night.

I’m a big fan of antihistamines to calm the nerves. Zyrtec completely relaxes me, and stops the allergy symptoms including itchy skin which used to be somewhat of a trigger for me.

it worked for me as well but was so sedating I had to take it at bedtime

It must have a long half-life for the anti-anxiety effect to work the next day. What dose did you take at night? Any side effects from taking hydroxyzine at night?

sorry I cant recall the dose as it was years ago. it put me to sleep usually. I didn't ever take it in the daytime for this reason.
