So as an anxiety/panic attack suffer the past 5 months have been the hardest in my whole 31 yrs of living. My anxiety has changed the scope of my life and was truly consuming me day and night. I have researched and tried all different type of medication & counselor sessions.
I do rely on my xanax here and there but take 1/2 of .25 mg as needed. I have my first appt next Friday with a new clinic that specializes in panic disorder and cbt.
Anyways...I ordered this self help CBT workbook and it has done wonders in the last week. Honestly, I had to tell you all just in case you wanted to try it. I think it cost like $20 on amazon! What I like about it is that it provides you with tools in the book. The back section has different cbt worksheets as you go through the book. I’ve made extra copies but you can print them online and write in your book.
I’m only on page 47 and find myself working through the basic tools and knowledge as I’ve been panicky here and there.
Anywho, the book is called “Self-Help Tools for PANIC” by Dr. Matthew Whaley.
I’d love to hear if any of you try it and if works for you. I know this road we are on is tough. I’ve had my fair share of break downs dealing with this monster. Just wanted to tell you about something that has been helpful in this last week.
