Buspirone- Thinking of trying

Hello,

I was wondering if you have any experience or thoughts about taking buspirone for anxiety. I tried SSRIs (zoloft and lexapro) and with Lexapro I gained an absurd amount of weight and Zoloft gave muscle twitches and brain zaps.

I take klonopin 0.25 mg as needed but I am concerned about dependence. So I read about Buspirone and it seems to work for anxiety and do not see many issues with the muscle twitching and weight.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

I took it for several years and it helped as long as my anxiety wasn't severe. my only side effect was slight dizziness at first. you are wise to be cautious with long term klonipin use. -even at a very low dose.

I’ve been on buspar for years. I agree with dan, that there only real side effect is a bit of dizziness in the beginning. I also agree it is for mild anxiety. Good luck!
