H,

Hi there. I see you are on Prozac. Have you tried a lot of other antidepressants? I don’t think the Effexor is going to be the one unfortunately, so much anxiety on it. I tried Prozac 25 yrs ago, so I don’t remember much about it and if it worked or not... I was prescribed it for Bulimia when I was 15. I’m wondering if I should talk to my pdoc about going back to the basics and giving it a shot, it a match from my genetic testing. I know it’s an older AD but just wanted your thoughts on it. Thank you

Sorry to hear the Effexor is not working for you.

I have been on Prozac for a while now and have found it to be very effective but I had to go up to 60mg so I would say it's worth a go especially if it's a match on your genetic testing. A lot of people find it a very activating antidepressant so it's best to take it first thing in the morning.

I have tried a lot of antideprassants over the years and the best one for me was Lexapro so maybe speak with your pdoc about that one as well and see what they say.

Hi there! Thanks for getting back to me, can’t take Lexapro it’s a no from genetic testing;( I felt I’m back to square one and it’s soooooo defeating and I’m feeling very sorry for myself and my family. Tms dr recommended maybe trying Lamictal .....?

I have never tried Lamictal but have heard good things about it so worth thinking about.
