I recently had a check up which included blood work. My Dr. called and said I was really low on Vit. D. I'm taking a prescript
ion of Vit. D. Once a week for 8 weeks to get it back up.
But, of course I immediately looked it up so I could know what was going on. It's amazing all the ways it can affect the body. It's not the cause of my anxiety but may have pertained to some of it. I've noticed several things that have been worse than the norm for me. I'm looking forward to seeing if some of them will be better or gone once I get the level up.
I've read that many people are low, something like 75% are at least a little low. Anyway, it might be worth looking it up and getting the blood work done if it's something you feel could be a problem.

L.,
Great job on getting the answers that you need! Vitamin D definitely has a direct affect on mood...so I am confident that taking your supplement will be beneficial for you.
(for those not taking a supplement, but looking to increase their Vit D intake...foods such as eggs, beef fatty fish (tuna, salmon and mackeral) and milk (fortified) all have it. Spending as little as 10 min in the sun daily also provides a source!)
Let us know how your progress goes!

Hello there, sorry for the late reply <3
I have had very low vit D (10) and the dr on the phone asked me "omg this is so low, when was the last time you spent time under the sunlight?" and I replied "well, we do live in Sweden. What sun..?" LOL
But yeah managed to improve it to an acceptable level around 35-40 but other dr said that it's still considered to be on the low range but not deficient as I used to be. I used x2 100,000 IU with 2 weeks between the ampules. But it was not enough apparently.
Now I am taking daily dose of 2 capsules. Will have my vit D levels checked hopefully after I am finished with the package.
My mom lives in a warmer climate and lies under the sun for like 6 months every year, and she still has low vit D.
I absolutely don't understand the mechanics of vit D in human body.

My doctor gave me Vit. D pills a few months ago, one a week, but with a health problem I have, I couldn't take one pill that lasted 7 days.
I went to the net and it said, Cod Liver Oil, something like 1 tablespoon a day for 100% all you'll need.
I now take about
3/4ths to 1 teaspoon a day with a meal. I figure that might help with 50 to 75% and I think I'll get the rest with my food.
The way I'll know if this is working is the next time I get a Vit. D check from my doctor. It it's improved, but not enough, I can go to 1 to 1 1/2 teaspoons of Cod Liver Oil a day on my food.
I can't lay in the sun to get Vit. D, for I will get more skin problems for which I wear a hat and long sleeves. Which is probably why I got a lack of Vit. D to begin with.

Keep in mind that too much vitamin D...like everything else is BAD for you.
Ask your doc to do a blood test.

I do feel better since taking it. It's not a miracle but I feel well enough to continue to take them after the prescript
ion is gone. I totally hate taking pills so that's saying something.
