No, it doesn't sound stupid at all...we have all had irrational thoughts to some degree...and even though we know rationally they aren't going to actualize, they are troublesome nonetheless!
Anxiety makes it very hard to concentrate...so I empathize with your frustration at trying to study!
Use of coping skills will help. Before sitting down to work, watching some meditation videos, and practicing self calming exercises will help. Progressive Muscle Relaxation is a good one (found in our Stress Relieving Exercises link/Resources)
Also, Therapy Worksheets (also in Resources) and Positive Mantras/reassuring statements will help to combat the instrusive thoughts/worries that are bothering you.
Working with these tools daily will make a big difference in how you feel! If you find you need further help, then talking to your doctor about your options for treatment would be the next step.
