You may need a change of meds. They work differently on different people. Also, try some techniques to bring your anxiety back down when it happens. Like deep breathing, exercising, writing out your feelings, and many that I'm not thinking about.
IMHO, and only my opinion it never goes away totally. But, with the right med. and/or using other tools it can be almost like it's gone forever. I also believe that anxiety can go up and down depending on the situation. But, I've never actually researched the topic before. If you have a reason (death of a loved one, PTSD, anything major that has impacted your life I believe in talking it out, preferable to a therapist since they are trained but sometimes just talking it out can help.
