Anxiety in general can cause you to skip cycles. I've had abnormal cycles for years and they've run blood tests and ultrasounds and basically what my ob/gyn told me is that since I have a constant state of elevated anxiety my body has determined that it is under too much stress to be able to carry a child to term, and therefore I stopped cycling and ovulating. I was diagnosed with secondary amenorrhea due to anxiety. I'm not sure if that is helpful at all, but our bodies kinda watch out to make sure that we will be able to have a healthy pregnancy. I would have your ob/gyn run a blood test to rule out medical causes, and the treatment that they have offered me is to be on a birth control. I don't need to be on one for contraceptive reasons, but it helps to keep the cycle regular to avoid the ovarian cysts that can result from an abnormal cycle. For the future, my doc said that when my husband and I are ready for children that there is a medication that I will have to take to induce ovulation.
