morning agitation while on SSRI

Sorry that you are having this uncomfortable effect. :/

I think you are wise not to be quick to switch in trying a new Rx at this point. Too many people make this mistake, and in the long run, prolong their search process for the right med for them.

At six weeks in, and with a recent increase, what you are experiencing is pretty expected. You may be only half way through your start up process, where the initial s/e's are very common.

I do think that if you push through and give it more time, that your system will eventually adjust....and if not, then you know with certainty that you did all you could, and gave it ample time (some people need up to 12 weeks to adjust and get the therapeutic benefits of their medication)

Do your best to work your coping skills to combat the s/e's...and stay encouraged. You are on your way to getting the help that you need.

Mine is not at the level of “manic”. But it is uncomfortable and when it happens I cannot sleep any longer. I thought it would have ended by now, after 6 weeks. I will give it some more time and see how it goes.
