I have been on 20 mg Prozac for 2 and a half weeks now. The side effects are tough to deal with. Fatigue, weakness, dizziness, and sometimes shakiness. My psych said symptoms should only last a couple of weeks. I will continue on, but this is really bringing me down. Anyone have similar side effects and how long did they last?

Hi

I am currently taking Prozac and your psych is right the symptoms should start to ease after a couple of weeks once your body gets used to the medication so I would say stick with it.

I have found it to be an effective medication.

stay on 20 for as long as it works for you . Prozac is a very strong ssri and to keep side effects at a min stay at 20 . my dr bumped me to 40 after only a few weeks and it was way too strong. we all react diff so listen to your body as to doseage
