Years ago, I received treatment from a mental health agency. Everyday they would have a mental health worker employed by them come to the house that I was living in to help me cope with the depression and anxiety issues which I was facing at the time. They'd help me get through the day. They also had other clients that they worked with who also needed that kind of assistance.
The mental health workers that I worked with back then told me that if you're a mental health worker, you learn something new each day.
They couldn't tell me specifically what they learned each day while working with their other clients, as that was confidential information.
However, I thought it was cool that they learned something about helping people with psychiatric issues like me each day. And I thought it was neat that they enjoyed learning new things about helping those with mental illness as well as learning about the illness itself each day.
So if you're considering working in that field someday, realize that if you do enter the mental health field, you'll be learning something new every single day.
