Hi everyone.
Ugh, I’ve been struggling the past week. Sorry in advance if this is tmi. Last Monday I went to my drs office and saw someone other than my regular dr; it was for a common infection and planned to get a script
and be on my way. For whatever reason, she started looking over my bloodwork and noticed my protein level was slightly elevated. She ordered a blood test that day and got results 3 days later. Of course when you do the terrible thing of looking online for causes of elevated protein levels first thing to pop up is cancer. 🤦🏼♀️ With having anxiety for so many years I should know better, I do know better but can’t help but look. So needless to say for days I was in a constant state of worry, not interested in eating or doing anything other than thinking. not to mention the stress and worry we are all already feeling from coronavirus. With all of this I’ve noticed lower back pain. I’ve had tinges if pain before but it’s gone away. This has been going on almost daily since my drs appt last week. The more I think about
it the worse it gets (of course). She finally called me with the blood work results and the protein that causes cancer was negative which is great, but she still wants to do some other blood work to rule anything else out. She said it’s fine to wait until all this coronavirus is over to go get it done and said not to worry or loose sleep over it. Easier said than done for someone with anxiety
I know anxiety can cause body symptoms but has anyone experienced this before? Another bit of important information would be that I’ve been working from home and spending a lot of time laying around watching tv. Looking online this shows it’s not helpful for back pain to lay or sit around a lot. Sorry in advance for the long post but could really use some reassurance and help right now ❤️ thank you so much everyone. -M
