Can You Appear Calm To Others Even When You're Nervous?

When I was on other psychiatric medications between 2000 and 2011, my medications made it impossible, when I'd get nervous, to be able to hide it from everyone else. My hands would get all shaky. My lips would quiver as well.

I would have never made it as an undercover agent for the CIA or the FBI, that's for sure!

However, since 2011, I've been on a drug called Clozaril. It's the only medication I am currently on.

So nowadays, when I get nervous, sometimes my hands get shaky (although not as bad as before). But at other times when I get nervous, my hands don't get shaky and stay steady...and I don't know why.

How about you? When you get nervous, can you hide it from everyone else? Can you appear to be calm even when you aren't?

YES, one can appear calm while the insides are all a-quiver. basically you are talking about comparing what you feel INSIDE to how others appear OUTSIDE.... which are more often different in people than they are the same. we humans can feel hundreds of things while looking like we feel nothing.

I also feel like it's very obvious to others and I have thought about this a lot.

When I was going through the worst of my anxiety struggles and felt nervous all the time I felt like I didn't want anybody to know. I couldn't keep still ever and was always fiddling with my hair. I used to think everyone knew and I tried so hard to act normal.

When I finally came out and told my partner about the way I was feeling, I asked him if had any idea I was feeling so bad and he said no, he thought I was fine. It still baffles me now how I could have been suffering the worst I ever had and yet I'd appeared normal and nobody noticed!

However, I do feel like maybe those who are perceptive, or have anxiety themselves may have noticed.
