guess i am the resident expert here on buspar. i have taken it off and on and as needed for many years, it doesnot work for some people. works great for me. there are few side effects and none of them are serious. for me a slight dizzy feeling is the most ihave ever had. it is supposed to be taken on a steady basis to build up in your system but i found it also works great as needed. start with a 5 mg dose and see how it goes, you can take 15mg at once but i found that too strong. of all the meds for depression and anxiety i have tried over the decades -this is by far the mildest and with least side effects. -if it works for you. its highly recommended by me that it be tried. much safer than a benzo. dont expect it to stop a serious anxiety attack like a benzo will. there is no start up effects and no stopping withdrawls. few other meds for anxiety can make this claim.
