Hi am a male age 42 who I think has anxiety and fears of everything .. was recently diagnosed with gerd which was causing many symptoms.. I am working on the gerd medicine and wanted to see if anyone has taken any medicine with little side effects that you can function as normal as possible to keep my mind from wandering, heart from racing and feel whatever normal may be ?
Thank you so much for any guidance

There are a bunch of options. None of them are entirely free of side effects. And they don’t all work the same way for everyone. I suggest you see a psychiatrist to discuss medication options. You might find psychotherapy helpful too. Good luck.

Some breathing exercise. In through nose, litle hold, purse lips and release fully, repeat a few times
Clench hands to a fist and release. HT

-Ltheanine-chamomile and st jons wort are non narcotic otc suppliments that have helped me. also kava but for occasonal use only . avoid benzos at all cost! they will lead to addiction even if taken as prescribed long term. i now take a very mild ssri called celexa and on the lowest dose. buspar is also an option. non addicting but like a weak benzo -precricption only
