2 questions about increasing lexapro from 10mg

Hello all, it’s been ages since I’ve been here, I’m glad after many many years I’m finally on medication. So I’ve been on lexapro for six months on 10mg. It has definitely helped me but could be better hence the increase.
So my questions are, for the females.. did your sexual libido and ability to orgasm come back when initially taking lexapro and again when increasing? It took me three weeks after first taking lexapro for it all to come back thank goodness!! I know for some it doesn’t at all and am I risking it not returning by increasing?

Secondly, I can happily handle drinking alcohol within reason (I dont drink much but will every few months or so) but I’ve heard anything higher than the 10mg is not worth it and not a good experiance and leads to black outs? Thoughts anyone? I obviously want to feel good and healthy and that should come before drinking or sex but overall I’d like to have it all haha I mean who wouldn’t.

I am so sorry nobody has been around to answer your post. I am glad the lexapro is working for you. I hope that it continues. Do use alcohol sparingly, it causes the mind to become depressed. It is a depressant after all. But I am glad you can handle an occasional drink.

I am not sure how lexapro works with sexual ability. A lot of antidepressants can cause problems. For me it was paxil. That was years ago. Needless to say I went off of it.

I usually hang out in the depression forum but I check anxiety and panic from time to time.

Anyhow I do hope that the lexapro continues to work for you even with the increase.
