quitting effexor xr

I too am/was on Effexor 75 mg....for almost 2 years...felt that I had no energy...so Pshyc says to stop Effexor and start in 300 mg Wellbutrin. She gave me 7 Effexor 37.5 mg to take for 7 days and then stop. I stopped and now take 300 mg Wellbutrin. I am having the Brain Shivers, flu symptoms, shakiness. I dont' care a cigarette, nor do I want food or liquids in me either. I had to have my sister call the SHrink back Friday afternoon and 2 hours later when the Shrink decided to call back she said I don;t know what to tell you. I guess you could take her to the Emergency room. My sister told her that SHE had prescribed these meds and told me after 7 days of Effexor 37.65 mgs to stop altogether. I had no emotions with Effexor....I just existed. Coming down from Effexor I am crynig and it does feel good. I am trying to understand if it is the Effexor withdrawals I am feeling or the upping of my Wellbutrin from 150 mg to 300 mg. Shrink said she could take me all the aye to 450 mg...but then I would have seizures. I want off of all of this crap and that SHrink does not want to seem to help, even tho she prescibed all of this. Anyone else on both of these meds (Effexor and Wellbutrin) and feeling like a weeble ball with no appetite? HELP ME PLEASE!!!

At first the drug was a god send but as time went by the side effects became more and more insidious. Someone described one side effect as "feeling numb",this particular one seemed to grow with time, also sexual dysfunction, started small culminated in total dysfunction. I needed to quit.

My Doctor told me the go half dose for a month then quit. What I actually did was to go half dose for two weeks then I stopped completely, talking only one 35.5mg capsule when the brain zaps and other weirdness became too hard to handle. First I managed two days, then three, then five. I took my last one eight days ago. Still get brainzaps and stuff but its manageable. Don't know how long these effects will last.
