Something similar happened to me not too long ago. I was at the eye doctor, and I had some drops put in my eyes that made my eyeballs kinda numb. Not a big deal right? Wrong. Back in the waiting room I just couldn't stop thinking about my eyes - I didn't even want to blink. All of a sudden it washed over me and I was boiling hot!!! I didn't want to draw attention to myself but I had my elbows on my knees and my head in my hands keeping it as low as possible to quell the dizziness. My heart was racing and my breathing was super shallow. Within seconds I was drenched with sweat to the point that my elbows were making my knees damp, and my clothes were just sticking to me. Thankfully I was able to maneuver a bit and get into the path of an oscillating fan, which helped. (I find a fan in my face actually helps a lot during these attacks.)
I wish I could tell you something magic I did to make it stop, but the truth is, the effect of the drops didn't last long. I just sat there and dripped and tried to control my breathing and ignore the guy sitting across from me who was clearly wondering what in the world was going on. Then it was over.
Miserable though. Having something like that happen in public is the worst.
I do get the shakes and the chattering teeth with almost every bad anxiety attack too. They're completely uncontrollable, even once it feels like the anxiety is gone, the tremors still last for a while.
So, know that you're not alone! If we can do it, so can you!
