I would say cause depression brings you down and slows everything while anxiety kinda speesd it all up. (my view atleast)

Remember if you're questioning your sanity it's pretty safe to say your sane. For people who do have psychotic episodes they don't recognise the fact that something is wrong.
I hold on tightly to that bit of info when the anxiety has me tightly in it's grips.
Depression is more the endless sadness, tears, lack of energy, dark thoughts. Anxiety is those endless panicy thoughts that eat away at you. Depression can come on as a secondary illness to anxiety, due to the long periods of feeling overwhelmed.
It's best to find a good doctor to diagnose which one you've got.

Jaymay,
Lately, I've been asking myself the same question, as to how to tell the difference between anxiety and depression...after all these years, I thought it was an easy question to answer. But now, things have changed somehow and it is very hard for me to seperate the two. They definitely feed off of each other...

yea it is hard to decifer the two because like Aussie said depression can come as a secondary illness to the anxiety i just hope i never get to that point - i just was curious about
how people with depression feel.

Hey Jayman,
You won't go crazy or just snap it's just anxiety. I too have that fear when my anxiety is really high. As for the difference between anxiety and depression I would have to say when i'm anxious i'm feeling super panicy and i'm in a constant state of fear. After being anxious for days I sometimes go into depression and I feel like I have no energy and i'm in complete dispear.
hugs,
Georgia
