Wow, anxiety is really all over, does the weather affect this, I think it does for me. I live in chicago, and the gloom here for the last couple weeks is unreal. thanks for asking I was wondering the same thing.

My daughter went to school at UB in Buffalo.  I love this thread.  It somehow makes me feel more connected and the world doesn't seem like such a big place.

I was born and grew up in Jackson, Michigan. Have family in Cincinnati, Ohio. I now live in Pearland, Texas just 20 minutes from Downtown Houston, I also lived 4 years in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Would like to settle down in Cincinnati, Ohio or somewhere in Tennesse, so to be closer to family, but not too close. South Texas is just a little to Hot for me sometimes! If I could I would like to visit Australia.

Born in a small town called Labrador City, which is in the province Newfoundland & Labrador, Canada. Currently residing in a much larger town that's an hour east of Toronto Canada.

Am I the only "Friendly Floridian" here?! I live in Panama City, Florida. I was born here and so was my late father. I wouldn't know how to live anywhere else! Our beach, Panama City Beach, draws a huge pilgrimage of "spring-breakers" every summer. The beach used to be beautiful until the devlopers came in and started putting huge condos all up and down the beach. Oh well, I prefer St. Andrews Bay over the gulf anyhow! If I didn't have travel phobia (and had the money!), I'd want to go to Oregon and/or Washington State. It is so beautiful there. I can often tell that a movie has been filmed there, just from the deep vivid greens of the foliage and the gray skies. I personally LOVE what others call "gloomy" weather!!! And here I am in Florida where we get oodles of sunshine!!! Oh yes, I'd LOVE to see England!

Hey guys! I'm from Long Island, New York..born and raised, i love it there..currently im in college at UMASS which is in Amherst, MA (western Mass.) but man do i miss LI...it was interesting reading where everyone is from! :) i just joined this forum yesterday and i feel so comfortable already talking here.

I think the weather does affect mood. In the Pacific Northwest we love the green color but the trade off for having it is the gray and rainy seasons that we get. Seasonal Affective Disorder is huge here. The first time I had a problem with depression my husband scrapped all the lamps in our livingroom and went out and purchased bright lights. It really did help a bunch. I don't know if those "natural light" Ott lights are real or if they are media hype but I know that brighter light than what we had in our house helped at the time. I still have lots of light around me at night time.

Janet, my sister lives in Tallahassee. Not too far from your neck of the woods. I haven't visited her in awhile, but when I have we usually go to Panama Beach for the weekend (off season of course ). It's so pretty there. It would feel weird being invaded by college kids every year though.

also, speaking of weather, I am affected by it as well. It gets so dark, cold and gloomy in Buffalo in the winter. Then when we do have a nice day you feel like you have no choice but to go outside because you never know when another nice day will come.

I'm from a beautiful part of southern Australia - Phillip Island, Victoria. It's a lovely little natural paradise with about 6000 permanent residents, but over summer we have an influx of tourists and swell to around 60,000. We are home to the little penguins, one of the largest tourist attractions in the country, and also the Motorcyle Grand Prix.

Looking over Western Port Bay and backing on to Bass Strait - bliss!!!
