I hope this is the kind of thing fits in with the direction of this forum--if not please delete.
I'd like to know from you creative types how your meds affect how and what you express. Of course whether it's neg or pos, ie maybe you found or lost found your art or perhaps found a new or different art.
I ask because my doc had once mentionned that meds could negatively affect (effect?) an artist's creativity (I guess be less productive? I didn't ask then. That's when I didn't want to here about
a/p coz I hoped we'd eliminate anything else first).
Lets hear how you're doing.
I'm an aspiring comic strip/gag cartoonist and have just started on Paxil 20mg/day and have yet to notice any difference in creativity. I have slowed down in everything I do right now, mountains of laundry wait for me to. But my mind keeps writing and visualizing, it's not any clearer or any more difficult than before meds. I haven't really picked up a pencil yet except for drawing pumpkins for the kids but I hope to get back at it when I clean up my house.
When I am in an attack mode of course I do nothing including draw and handling a pencil or pen is sometimes difficult just after an attack coz I'm often shaky and/or weak for a while later and don't concentrate so well--conversly if I have no shakiness issues I'll draw for post attack therapy.
No I'm not a brilliant artist but I do like to mix and match humor with staging and dialogue. I don't have a ton of stuff as I really just got going a year and a half ago but recently I have been drawing for a Volkswagen website.
