Just started Lexapro, question

I was on Lexapro for a couple of years. I don't remember it affecting me like that. If it did, I contributed it to my depression. I don't know if this helps, I hope so.

hey you guys that are taking lexapro, do you remember it increasing the anxiety the first few weeks, will this level out, how long did it take, glad you are here, the weekends are hard to get through, not much to keep you busy and if there is can't get motivated to do it.

I do actually take it in the morning but doesn't really calm me down yet, maybe still kicking in

I have been on Lexapro for over a year and a half. I was given the med primarily for depression, but it is also supposed to help with the anxiety. I still have bouts of both, lately more with depression. I can only tolerate 15mg for some reason, but occasionally go on higher dose for a bit to help with the depression. I also take it at night because it made me sleepy, but it really doesn't anymore. As for a lack of motivation, I had that before the med, due to depression, so I really can't say. If anything, I would say it helped that. Good luck with this, and please remember that these SSRI's all take a while to work, and side effects tend to taper off as well. Just give it some time, hopefully it will help you.
