Hyperventilation, anxiety, panic attacks....whats next?

I have previously posted about having hyperventilation and seizures because of it. Since I had my seizure it never came back but I was feeling strange ever since. I would always feel a tingly feeling, shortness of breath, my hands and feet would go numb as well as my face. But since saterday I began to have a different type of attack. I was just on my computer and all of a sudden my heart started beating abnormally, I hesitated and went to go lay down for a couple minutes, I kept feeling my heart beat like something was wrong with it and i began to see things and i thought I was having a heart attack. I havent been taking my lorezepam like i was supposed to and that night I taken it again becasue I felt like I was going to end up in the hospital. I went to the nuerologist yesterday and he had the results from my EEG I had taken last week and told me everything was fine and I have no seizure activities. He told me it was all panic and perscribed Effexor XR. I was confused why the 2 hour long EEG showed no signes of siezure activity when I clearly had a siezure a month ago. It seems like it dissapeared. The doctor told me I have to come back and take a 12 hour EEG to make sure im only having panic attacks. I started taking the Effexor XR that day felt great for the first couple hours and then all of a sudden while I was driving to a friends I experienced another panic attack in my car. I dont know how long im going to have this for or whats going to come out of this. I feel like I have no life now and anywhere I go im scared I might have another one. Im out of school because of it and dont know when I will be back to normal. Please post, it will be very helpful. Thank You

Kreak, Welcome to HW.  I'm sorry to hear you are having such a rough time.  I started having my first attacks in school too and it was scary.  I've never had a seizure so I can't help with that side of things but I do suggest you keep on with the medication.  It can take a few weeks to start working so take heart.  Things will get better if you keep seeking advice and help.  I'm sure some other people will be along to post and help you out soon.  Take care and keep us posted.

My 'worst' anxiety attack could have easily been described as a seizure..sheesh..terrifying to say the least...it happened at work - I ended up outside lying curled up on the ground..how I got past all the machinery I will never know..but I had all the symptoms you describe..
Sorry you have had to endure all this at such a young age..but I can tell you that you will be able to use the wisdom you will learn along the way to help others some day. Wondering if your doctor has recommended counselling for you..it can certainly make a big difference!

Thanks for all your replies. I spent last night in the hospital after the worst panic attack of my life since i had the siezure. I was shacking in bad and had t have the ambulance come pick me up and take me to the hospital. Its was a long night but now im going to check up with my primary doctor often so we can make sure everything works out well.
