Hi, lexapro dosages? and quesitons

I take lexy for my problems. I am thinking of dropping to 5mg (the doctor said this would be ok for now) b/c of side effects: namely I get emotional blunting (I cannot cry or feel excited) and sexual side effects. Anyhow, 2 questions: does anyone get the emotional blunting side effect. Next: Does anyone find success on such a low dose as 5mg????? Thanks to all.

I was on 10mg for long time and it worked well for me. I did have alittle of the emotional bluntness but I found it handy. Cause my husband and I were going through some hard times and I would always get to excited when I was upset and things would get out of control. So being emotional blunt for awhile gave me time to learn how to deal with my emotions and rethink on how to deal with problems. It helped me cause I could think how to solve or deal with the issuses at hand without getting carried away. But this is not something I would want to live with forever. I have now adjusted my meds and I am having feelings again and I can deal with them much better. The sexual side effects are the pits. I really felt bad for my hubby cause I really wanted nothing to do with him barely a hug! But it seemed the longer I was on the meds the side effects seemed to lessen.
Try the 5mg for awhile and maybe try to bump it up later if it seems to not be helping.

I'm on Lexapro.. but I don't get the emotional blunting.. I think I'm way TOO emotional.

*hence my other post where I've been bawling from not being able to GET my Lexapro samples cuz my doc and her nurse are DINKS*

I've never heard of anyone being of 5 mgs of Lexapro, or have heard that it was ever successful.

My sister has been on Lex for over a year now, and just had her dose upped from 10 mgs to 20 mgs because 10 mgs was doing nothing for her.

Hopefully someone else has some answers for ya on the 5 mgs
