I'm glad this topic came up!! I first started suffering from panic attacks and DP/DR in my high school years. That was a 20 years ago,but i was always drinking diet soda and eating diet stuff (that was the big thing at the time). I was always anxious, nervous, just never felt good. I eventually quit eating or drinking anything with aspertame or any artificial sweetener about 7 years ago after reading that the chemical is so bad for the brain and can trigger all sorts of things and can cause cancer. What a difference in how I felt on a daily basis!!! Not nearly as many panic attacks and no headaches.
Oh, recently I was chewing sugarless gum and believe it or not started feeling dizzy within 1/2 an hour. I guess I am now super sensitive to it.
I think everyone needs to stay away from these chemicals! Especially those of us with chemical imbalances in our brains.
There is enough bad stuff in our food and in the air. I drink regular soda now and then and I havent gained any weight. Everything in moderation
