Tapering Off Lexapro

Let me tell ya. Just going down 10 mgs has rocked my World. Zombie like state when i awake. Then a surge of medication induced agitation. The whole time i feel like I have the flu. Heat and chills simultaneously. I always have tolerated SSRIs well, Took Prozac for 17 years. When we switched to Lexapro not a biggee. But this sucks. No coherent thoughts. Confusion. Feel like crap. And this is a far cry from cold turkey.

If I didn't have such good luck with Prozac for 17 years I'd consider scrapping the SSRIs. But, I know they work for me. However, I don't believe I can tolerate high doses. A little seems to go a long way with me.

Do you have compulsions? I have "Pure O". No compulsions. I think the obsessions are more difficult to deal with and treat than the compulsions. I had 17 years of being in great shape with the help of Prozac. Just a small dose (20 mgs) did the trick the vast majority of the time. This is a rough patch. However, even if I was med free I know I can live a rich full life and not let this disease hold me back. It hasn't yet and i know it won't in the future.

I have unpleasant unwanted thoughts, probably from OCD
