Aquarius. I have the same problem. I began having severe anxiety in December 05 and in Jan 06 they put me on Murelax which of course I became addicted to. They didn't even stop the panic attacks so I began drinking and it helped. Until the next day.
This year I have started with a new Doctor who has put me on Valium because as she says if I take the two in the morning and three at night, I am having no ups and downs like with the Murelax. They are a 5mg tablet and I am in the process of trying to come off them. Like you though, I have still been drinking and it seems like the only thing that makes life a bit more fun.
I have had very bad reactions to a lot of anti depressants so my doctor wont try any more with me unless she has to.
I am so sick of not being able to drive far other than down the road or around the corner and I know without the tablets, there is no way I could even go to the shop.
I believe I have to give up the grog and I know it wont be easy but I think I might try and remind myself. Grog or tablets and certainly, it's the tablets that are letting me have a bit of a life at the moment.
Good luck. Hope this has been of some help.
