I've noticed that I sometimes have difficulty thinking of the word that I want to use. I also sometimes "stumble" when saying a word. I had a neuro workup two years ago complete with an MRI. Does anyone struggle with this due to their anxiety/panic?

Definitely. I can write really well and process thoughts fine in my mind... But they just don't come out how I want them to. I used to be very well spoken and articulate but now I constantly find myself sounding like an idiot and jumbling up sentances all over the place :(

Sometimes I can't remember whether I've only thought something or if I've said it out loud. So, I'll have to ask my husband, "Did I tell you such and such or was I only thinking it." I'm sure he thinks I'm really weird!

I forget words a lot. I used to have a pretty extensive vocabulary, but it's a "use it or lose it" kind of thing. When I started having all the health trouble and then the anxiety/panic, I'd simply think about
fewer things. I'd have fewer conversations. Both my world and vocabulary got smaller. It's not like I've forgotten the definitions of words. I still know what they mean, but using the right word is a completely different thing (cognitively).
If your anxiety/panic gets better and you become more conversational, it will come back. At one time I thought I was getting dumber but thankfully that wasn't the case! It was only temporary.

pokerchick,
I have that problem as well. A lot of times at work someone will ask me to do something, and later on in the day when I'm at home I'll go "Holy crap! I completely forgot to do that!!!!"
I have this problem with my medications really bad too. I'll take it in the morning and forget but I don't want to take another dose if I already took one but I can't remember if I did or not!
Argh. Definitely frustrating.
