I have been dealing with horrible anxiety for a couple of months now and my latest symptom has been pain under my arm.  Of course, I put in a search in Google and I have every terminal illness under the sun...But, it did lead me to this forum, where I laughed at knowing that other people are experiencing the same pain and that it is most likely related to anxiety.  I am soooo thankful to know that I am not alone.  I knew I had to register to be a part of this friendship circle  dealing with all of the crazy things that anxiety can cause.  I wish for peace to come to each and every one of you today!

i found this forum too by googling armpit pain. the internet is the devil! devil apparently i have lymphoma or breast cancer, because im fitting the criteria. ive had on and off armpit pain in my right armpit for about 3 weeks now. sometimes i feel it in the left, but its mostly the right. i just had a full blood panel done 2 weeks ago and everything was normal. the pain was so worrysome today that i just laid on my bed and cried. if you search armpit pain in this forum, youll see tons of people have it too. im hoping of course that its just anxiety or "mouse pain" which would kind of make sense as i am always stretched out to use the mouse. but i can never get those what ifs out of my head. what if its cancer? it must be cancer. the more i concentrate on it, the more it hurts. ugh, it sucks.

Well, that's anxiety. There's a lot of glands under there that probably get aggravated just by having so much anxiety. I'm pretty sure I've had underarm pain at some point (to go along with little pains and weird feelings all over the rest of my body).

Thank you so much for replying! I feel blessed to have found this forum. I just had a full physical (with blood work, x-rays, the works) and everything looked normal. My doctor told me that she believed that my pains were do to anxiety and wanted to see me back in a few weeks. I have started taking antianxiety medication, but haven't been on it long enough to feel the effects. If I am still feeling the pains after a few more weeks, then she'll order tests to see if there actually is a problem (she's certain there isn't). I really love my doctor and trust her...I just wish my head/anxietal ways would stop second guessing what I have been told and stop the "what ifs"! I agree with mel0604...the internet is the devil! Thanks again to all of you who are out there for me! I wish you all peace for today!

I am so glad you went to your physician and that you have a good relationship. That means a lot.
The medications will help but alas we anxiety people are worries about the what ifs? You are not alone.
I go here when I start to doubt my worth and reason for putting one step in front of the other. I sit in front of my computer and relax and just watch the screen.

You are so right...fear keeps us from putting one foot in front of the other. I have three very active children that make it necessary, but no less difficult. Each time I do, though, it is like a little victory. Do you know what I mean? This forum is really going to help me. I can already tell. Thank you for keeping in touch.

Yes I have many fears as do others with this disorder YET
I am also a mom a cretaker for my dad ( has Alzheimers) I run a "Teen night" every week here in town and try to help out as many seniors as I can
ONCE I get out there and start to do it I am fine
A couple of yrs ago I was so bleeding bad I called my old doc and said " i cannot open the door ..not understanding he said TURN the knob........LOL ya okay
Anyways I finally strted getting out to the porch and to the store and finally back into the community I was always involved with...
I had to face those fears head on and I was terrified BUT I knew I had to do it for myself ,my daughter and my parents ( mom was still alive at that time ).......
I really believe you have the MINDSET and the ability to keep taking those small steps hun and WE all will be here to help if you do stumble
NEVER feel guilty if you do and feel no judgement from here

HEALTH ANXIETY.....not hypochondria ......totally different ........
I do hope you also will stick around and get the support we have here

Thank you so much for your message! Each time one of those "little victories" is won, I tell the anxiety part of my mind/emotions that they are not winning. My peaceful mind and heart WILL win this battle! It's just that sometimes feeling as if you are in constant battle within yourself is exhausting. We, as so many others have in history and presently, must continue the fight. Meditation and prayer help me tremendously. I hope you have a blessed day.
