i am relatively new here. i suffer from hypochondria and from what i've been reading, OCD too. anyway, after a health scare last summer, i developed generalized anxiety disorder. it helps me to come to these support forums cuz my husband and friends do not completely understand what i am going through.
the problem i have is these Mesothelioma ads that pop up on the sides of the screen. particularly when i click on a post involving shortness of breath (i have been suffering from shortness of breath for about 5 months now).
is it really wise to allow these ads to pop up on a "support" forum for anxiety sufferers. wouldn't it just make the anxiety worse for hypochondriacs such as myself. i know some of you might think this is silly but this is the life of a hypochondriac. i feel distress, believe it or not, when i see these ads. i can't even watch medical tv shows like ER, Grey's anatomy, scrubbs or House anymore. And I love "House". it's such a brilliant show!
wouldnt' it be better if colorful Care Bears popped up instead? maybe little blue Smurfs dancing across the screen or maybe these little yellow guys ???
i dunno, just wonderin'...
