Alprazolam doesn't remove all my anxiety

Hi people,

I took 1.125 mg (one and one eighth mg; maybe a bit less, as the tablet wasn't divided precisely by me...) for some very stressing situation (generally, some kind of public performance in front of pretty many people, which is nearly a horror in my social phobia). It worked pretty well most of the time, but in the "peak" moment I felt still marked anxiety (although it was bearable).

I take this drug only occasionally. I read it can impact negatively on the one's memory if the dose is too high, so I didn't take higher dose.

Is it normal in social phobia? Maybe the dose was still too low for me? What's the highest single dose of this drug, which doesn't impact on the memory? I don't want to compromise myself with some strange "after-too-high-dose-of-drug behavior", you know...
And maybe lorazepam would be good for such occasions? I have although read that it can really badly impact on the memory - what lorazepam dose is the highest if you want to avoid this "amnestic" impact? But maybe it's simply not so good in the social anxiety?

I know these drugs can addict, but I use such ones very carefully and rarely. I will ask a dr about it, but I'd like to ask you as well.

I've forgotten totally, that in English "," is used for "the thousands", and "." is used for the fractions... Inversely as in Polish.

Yes, it'd be a bit too high dose, lol...

I've actually taken 1.125 mg of it (approximately, as I've written).
