Not sure what to tell you there. People are all around you when your out in public, walking down the street, in the shopping malls, restaurants etc. How do you decide if your approaching them or they are approaching you?

In a restaurant the waitress approaches you, does that bother you too?

I am the opposite, I actually have lots of conversations with people in the public places.  Whether they approach me or I approach them, it does not bother me. When I was younger and I used to be terrified of people in public areas.  But my anxiety with dealing with people went away with time.  I wish I had something to help you with your anxiety of people approaching you.  One way that might help is if you are being approached think of then as a friend rather than your enemy.  Most people keep to themselves, and won't even bother you.
