I meant that slow healing comes with being on immunosuppressants. For the record, I have no tattoos but I do get cuts all the time at work and they take much longer to heal than 'normal' people....
I definitely heal slowly since being on Remicade. I comes with the territory....
^That's what happened to me. I didn't really have issues with stricturing until I started Remicade and then the youknowwhat hit the fan and I needed surgery 18 months later....
I think the pound of prime rib on Christmas didn't really do any great things for me. Nothing too bad, just a little discomfort sometimes. Hoping things turn around and go back to normal soon....
Q: What's the difference between a "crown" and a "cap"? A: These are restorations to repair a severely broken tooth by covering all or most of the tooth after removing old fillings, fractured tooth...
My GI talked to my surgeon and they decided what was the best. I think they said 10 or 12 weeks, but I don't remember exactly....
Congratulations!...
Congratulations on Remicade working well for you. I wish you a very long remission....
My BMs have never been clear, I always had a fair bit of bile in it, so it always had a green color to it....
Just got back from the ER. They did an MRE and aside from some expected scar tissue from surgery, everything looked good. I've had some 'normal' foods tonight and will see what happens....
Still having a bit of discomfort and pain. Called my doctor, who is out of the country, so I called the university and talked to the doctor on call there, said to keep on and if it doesn't get better...
Yeah, that's my plan. Had applesauce for dinner, haha....
I forgot to add that I've been a little constipated the last few days. I don't know if the pain is causing it or if it is causing the pain....
For the last 5 or 6 days I've had some slight pain and discomfort. I've been trying to eat a little better since then but it doesn't seem to have done much. Going to try a very light diet for the...
I went to one a couple years ago. Honestly, I was told nothing I didn't already know....
I wish you the best and hope it will put you into long remission....
CRP (C-reactive protein)....
I'd do the same thing if I were in your position. Plus, it would make it less likely people would steel my beer :D...
Before my surgery, I was in the hospital on average about twice a year. Mainly because I couldn't keep any food or water down, and I didn't want to get dehydrated and be in even worse shape....
I'm on it and haven't had any problems....
I've taken them for a couple of years now. I can't really say I notice a difference, but they aren't expensive and it won't hurt me....
I wish you the best of luck with your treatment, Bane. It's always nice to see a fellow Minnesotan on board....
I'm glad you found a good doctor, or at least one who seems to care. Best of luck with the test(s)....
Bowl of Cheerios for breakfast. Two hot dogs and a Nutri-Grain bar for lunch. Smoked pork chop and wild rice for dinner....
Oh God, NG tubes. I had them try and get them in during 3 separate ER visits and they're a combined 0/10. Hopefully you can get some actual help, versus what seems like incompetent fools....
Interesting. Thanks for sharing....
You'd be a fool to not take the job offer, IMO....
My doctor told me to not go back on Remicade until 6 weeks post-op, I believe. It probably won't hurt you to go on earlier, but it will slow the healing process a bit....
I've had a lot of fillings done since I was on prednisone. I can't be certain it's correlated, but I only had a few before I started and I've had 10 since, so I tend to think there's something going...
Best of luck. If you have a laptop, definitely bring that. And I'd bring the Xbox, worst case scenario you can't use it and it needs to go home with a family member....
I had no appetite for about the first 2 weeks post-op. I forced myself to eat because I knew I needed to. I hadn't really eaten anything solid for the 6 weeks prior to my surgery, so my stomach had...
May 27th. I didn't even know this existed until now. For more info: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/World_Crohn%27s_and_Colitis_Day...
Maybe it's just me, but the less needles in my spine, the better. I had no problems with my PCA, whenever I hurt a little bit, I hit the button and it didn't hurt anymore. No point in using more than...
I wish you the best of luck, Zanne. I'm glad I didn't get an epidural, I much preferred my PCA....
The only times I've ever had problems, was when I was flaring. I was always able to drink mixed drinks and hard liquor, but beer would give me quite a bit of pain. Any other times, I've had no...
In the last few years, some of that time on prednisone, I think I've had almost 10 fillings. Cleaning habits haven't changed, so I can't help but think it's either related to Crohn's and...
I had a lot of loud gurgling. After my resection I get some every not and then, but not nearly as loud or for as long....
I've always had better luck with arm veins. And like mdf34 said, hydrate before going and things should be better....
Stay in remission Finally get a permanent job Find a special someone...
I was 124 pounds before surgery, and am around 155 now, a year after....
Talk to your GI, maybe it's time to step up the dosage to a bit more per kilo, and/or get the infusions more often. Or maybe switch to another med....
Yeah, it makes me worn out the day of the infusion....
Not all that surprising. I'd like to take the quiz just to see how I'd do....
Chrohn's diagnosed for 3 years, 1 surgery a year ago. I was never really in remission until I had surgery. I made a stupid mistake trying to tough it out before going to see a doctor, and in doing so...
Best of luck....
A friend's cat has IBD and was on steroids last time I was over at her house. The thing was nothing but skin and bone....
I believe it was after my 3rd infusion until I saw improvement....
Mine is about $9k before insurance....
Yeah, definitely a colonoscopy and blood work. Not sure about the rectal exam, I know I've never had one in my few years of being diagnosed....
I don't have a scale at home so I don't really know, but I suspect I did....
