Welcome aboard. I don't think I can ad anything new to this. It's either SIBO, strictures or intolerance to certain foods, esp. those containing dairy and starch. I find it helps to empty my...
As far as I remember, flagyl never gave me any trouble. It helps a bit with my D... which usually comes back when I stop it  I get a lot of nausea too, but mine is because of strictures. Hope...
I'm going for my first surgery in Feb and I'm kind of looking forward to waking up with a bag...if that can take the pain away...:-)...
Hello bellysachin and welcome! :-)...
Depressing, innit? I usually lie down on the carpet in front of my laptop and browse the net or have a hot bath until I turn into a big, wibbly-wobbly noodle and watch some telly after. :-)...
As long as I'm obstructed which is usually until I get to A&E to get IV steroids and fluids. If yours goes away after an hour or so you're not obstructed......
You can get some steroid suppositories, but you could also try sitting on a bag of frozen peas. Worked for me ...
Hello and welcome! This is a wonderful place full of great people who are all willing to share what they know from their experience and years of battling this DD. Glad you are here with us. :-)...
You are all fantastic!!! This place wouldn't be the same without you!!! :-) x...
I have strictures, and I have no doubt about that, but I'm not sure how fibrotic they are. *confused* They usually relax when I take steroids, but they never go away completely, so there must be some...
For some time I've been getting that terribly loud gurgling which can only remind me of a pan with boiling soup or some other liquid substance in it. Now, it would be silly to think things like that...
Hi and welcome! Hope you manage to get it under control and perhaps enjoy your functions again. I've been flaring for the past 7 months and I can't even remember my last meal out... :eyes:...
It is not about intolerance. We all need iron, but as a supplement it is more like sandpaper for your gut and can leave nasty scars behind... and I really don't think there's anyone out there who can...
Did you take steroids at any time in the hospital?...
I'd stay away from any iron supplements if I could help it. Only because he's anemic doesn't mean his iron is low. It is absorbed in the duodenum and supplements can scar it and cause a lot of...
My hairdryer. Whoever invented it should get a Noble prize for it. :-)...
Hello and welcome. :-)...
I wonder how many drug companies are trying to convince doctors to diagnose people with this condition. Just a thought... This reminds me of a story of an hiv/aids cocktail going a few years back...
Looks like we're desperate for some answers, unfortunately, this DD is different for everyone and there's skinny and chubby people both labeled with it. What helps some is an absolute "no no" for...
Funny enough I'm ok with Vanilla flavoured Jersey Dairy but if I go el-cheapo I pay for it big time. :-)...
Thanks GDen. My mother used to believe in antibiotics and so did the doctors. I got them plenty of times growing up... ....
I hope it's nothing serious. Let us know when they've done them tests. You're in my thoughts and prayers. (((Hugs))) x...
I think you can get nausea if there's something wrong with your colon. I started getting nauseous when my strictures developed and I know one of them is in my large bowel. Maybe it's to do with how...
There are also compounding pharmacies out there that can make any size pill/capsule you need... :-)...
Unfortunately, you need a prescription to get it. Where I live it is prescribed by specialist clinics usually to do with alcoholism (Naltrexone) or MS (LDN). My GP looked it up and it had a # by the...
I decided to start at 2mg and felt pretty good all day long. It is funny how it made my bowels gurgle like never before last night. I don't have LDN cream. *sob sob* but I can take some sporanox if I...
Normal digestion??? It's been so long since I last had it that it seems unnatural to eat and s**t somewhat normal. You may have issues with oxygen and CO2 which often enough get absorbed into the...
That's what I want to do tonite. The drugs I took last night were more of a one-off thing so I think I can start back on LDN no problem. I'll let you know how it went tomorrow. :-)...
I'm so sorry. There's not a lot more I can say apart from the fact that I'm going thru a lot of sympathy pain atm. Codeine and pred helped a bit but my stomach is still distended and the bugger...
So I tried it last night and woke up with severe pains and spasms. I think 3mg to start with is a little too much and I'll lower it down to 1.5mg and go by the book from there on. I can't do it...
I got mine from my GP. She was reluctant at first and even called my GI's office for their approval but he was not there. When I told her all I needed was 3 pills of Naltrexone (50mg each) she smiled...
I'm gonna take my first dose of it tonite. Getting the solution ready now :-)...
Thanks Ivy. i'll forward that number or else give it to my in-laws so they can do for me. Andrew usually stays in touch with them over the internet, but I think they've got his mob number and will...
They're moving somewhere up north. I really hope he's ok as it's actually hit Brisbane right now. The only consolation we have is that he lives high up in an apartment in what looks like a solid...
I hope Phoebe is alright. My brother in law lives in Brisbane right by the river and they were told to evacuate as well. I really hope the rain stops and you get some relief over there... ....
  LOL ...
Hi and welcome! Better out than in as they say. I really don't know if raising the dose of Imuran is a good idea, but if you think that can do the trick then go for it. Have you tried...
Hi and welcome! I'm afraid there is no way to tell really. Her chances are 50-50 at the moment, but things are looking up and there's more and more research done into this DD every day, so...
Hi Daunting and welcome to the forum :-) I know it's all confusing the first time you get diagnosed and it's only natural to feel depressed, especially when you don't have a definite "yes" or "no"...
I want to have my strictures sorted and finally get off prednisolone. I'm doing pretty well this time. I'm down to a single 5 mg pill and not flaring considerably, so fingers crossed....
I'm with FunGuy on that one. I used to get pains like that too. They happen when food or gas get stuck in your gut, especially in the inflamed part of it...I think....
Thanks guys. It's the usual for most of us TI stricture, but I'm sure there are some other little ones there as well. They want to do an overhaul of my plumbing and it's going to be a combo of...
Yes, definitely, you should call your doctor and discuss. 4 days is a long time to go without a bm and I'd be scared. I think it may be time for pred again...Hugs...
Wow, I'm so happy for you man. Your post makes me look forward to my surgery more than ever....
