For anyone with this issue, I'd suggest cutting way down on your diet for a few days to see if it helps. You can cut back to the BRAT diet, which is pretty much the most nutritionally balanced diet...
I suppose if you go by the definition, then no you can't have IBS as it affects your colon! However, I still think you can have digestive upset in your small bowel that can cause pretty severe pains....
