@teragram - I know several people who eat a lot of fruit on the Paleo diet. Some are more "Primal" and take in some root veggies. I eat much less. I also have PCOS so high carbs (or moderate carbs)...
Paleo by its nature is not low carb though many people (including myself) eat low carb....
I agree with starting it slow. I'm definitely gluten and lactose intolerant and can't do grains in general. For me, nightshades would be the hardest to give up, but fortunately I don't have an issue...
