Hi, I hope you don't mind the male visitor. I'm looking for some advice for a friend. I spent a while reviewing posts but couldn't find anything relevant. Stage 4, lumpectomy followed by radiation,...
Ha, Island Time. Me too. Forgot it was hooked in the shower, forgot it was hooked on the bed.....fastest instant stops I've ever done in my life!...
Ding, ding, ding.....we have another winner!...
Ding, ding, ding, we have another winner!...
Ding, ding, ding.......we have another winner....
So what did the path report say?...
If it hurts, ask your medical team - there could always be an unknown issue. I started kegels before surgery, waited while the catheter was in and then have done them for every one of the 1,400+ days...
Sweet. One step at a time.....and while we're on that topic, walk, walk and more walking (plus kegels)....
Result. Congrats. Walk, walk and more walking. Get them kegels going as well if you haven't already....
Trust us, the catheter removal is trivial and not painful. It's a bit like giving blood, the fear (for some of us) of the needle is way worse than the reality. Focus on walking, walking and walking....
Thanks all. Not the doctor's decision - I go direct to a private hospital.....same lab, same test as last year, just they've changed their reporting: "Please note for PSA results less than 0.1 ug/L...
Lab changed their reporting procedures so now back to <0.1. Makes sense but frustrating nonetheless. A big celebration was had Friday night!...
So how did it go?...
Ordered, thanks....
Sweet, congrats....
We're all different. I've been lucky and there are many of us, so there is hope for all. I had an erection with the catheter in (weird feeling) and no issues since. Four years on I still do my kegels...
I agree with the "take your time" messages. I had an erection with the catheter still in but didn't try "anything" for six weeks other than focusing on constant kegel exercises. To me it was like...
Numbers bounce around. Only worth worrying about if go >0.2....
Ding, ding, ding. We have another winner....
Ding, ding ding.....we have yet another winner. For those on here struggling at the early stages of this disease, please take note that there are people that come out the other side and go on to live...
Ding, ding, ding......we have another winner....
Ding, ding, ding.....we have another winner....
Ditto here. I post periodically to offer support where I can. I certainly can't say that I don't think about PC....many things trigger thoughts, but I try to not let them run away with me.....I fail...
Ding, ding, ding we have another winner....
Ding, ding, ding......we have another winner!...
Island Time. What was the outcome?...
Ha, congrats. Two hours and I would be red raw! Reminds me of a local business who installed TV aerials (pre satellite dish and cable). Their vans proudly drove around the town with their slogan on...
Have been thinking more on this. I love being on this site and get a lot of information and advice from members, but I think it is the "Five years after RALP, PSA rising" type posts that play on my...
Great result, congrats....
Thanks guys. Good suggestions, all appreciated. Hogo, those tests came from four different labs - a function of moving house and then country. Yes that last number is real - 0.002. I didn't ask for...
It's like groundhog day every time you're in the lead up to another test. Almost like you're teleported back to the day when the doctor said those three words that changed your life (no, he didn't...
Congrats, great news....
49 at DX. I had annual tests from age 40. Personal decision to start testing then. Glad I did....
Ha, now there's a question. Having had both and the associated concerns about volatile (but totally statistically insignificant) numbers....I'd go with normal....
I wore a pad for a week after the catheter came out, but it was completely dry most days. I know I'm lucky but there is nothing to say that your Dad won't be too....
Anyone know the law around disclosure of PC to prospective employers? I guess a physical exam may alert a doctor, but are you obligated to disclose medical history?...
Not the ideal outcome, but still very low and you know it can bounce around and vary between labs. Can't answer your first question, but I suspect MSKCC use 0.01 - I don't know this for a fact but in...
Red Sox. Ugh. I'd worry about them if I were you! Seriously, it is understandable that you are scared. We've all been there and despite what we will all tell you about survivability, likely outcomes...
My vote is biopsy. I'm glad my Uro forcefully recommended one, and then into RALP....
"Living life and having fun". A perfect motto. We should all try to embody that, even on the darkest days....
Novi68, Good that you did the Nomogram, but I think you need to take a long deep breath and think this through carefully. You have no huge rush - as several have said, AS is a very viable option for...
Sounds like a good outcome. Keep the updates coming....
Take a look at my post RALP PSA test results in my signature. Increased specificity can be a burden! Relax and enjoy life....
BeatCancer2017, what did the Doc say?...
I would book an appointment with your doctor now. My RALP caused a hernia, my symptoms were like yours....I should have gone sooner. Obviously we're different and yours may not be a hernia, but I...
Bobbiesan, I think my issue is that several different labs were involved. The first two were in NY, the next four were at two different centres in CT and yesterday's was at a private hospital in the...
Yup, my third leg ached as well.......
I'm admittedly at the cautious end of the spectrum, so I'd go for biopsy and then discuss the results with your Uro. One step at a time, don't ump to any conclusions - the mind (and all the "what if"...
