It's been awhile since I've stopped by, but I spent some time this morning reading the forum, and it's still the same, a lot of good mixed in with some truly sad news. I have good news. I was treated...
0311, As you can see from the stats in my signature, my PSA was cut about in half right out of the gate and continued to drop. I had a minor "bounce", but overall it keeps going down. My advice is to...

Good for you Todd, you put a lot of effort into that and it shows....
I haven't been here in awhile, but I hope everyone is doing well in their fight. It's been almost 3 years since my SBRT and I'm happy to report my PSA has reached an all time low of 0.3! After a...

Had my 6 month check up (2 year anniversary) and I'm up from 0.4 to 0.6. I'm not overly concerned as this isn't much of a bounce. Will meet with my radiologist tomorrow. I feel great and everything...
Great news!...
I make all the decisions, but keep my future wife very well informed. I take all of her questions seriously, and sometimes go back in my research or questions for my doctor, based on something she...
I see nothing wrong with discussing something you found with your surgeon. I think that's good info TallAllen, and worth a chat with the doctor about. For goodness sakes, these are OUR bodies, and...
I'm just going to repeat what others have said. Find another doctor if you can. You have time to do so with your stats. Good luck. I'm having a hard time wrapping my head around the advise your...
Exercise and a low fiber diet helped me quite a bit with my SBRT. Tall Allen and Nomar are your experts on UCLA. Best of luck, it will be over before you know it. Good choice at a top facility! Mike...
Please don't ask me to spell that name Jim! /community/emoticons/smilewinkgrin.gif /community/emoticons/smilewinkgrin.gif ...
I say more power to a younger generation of people in any profession who value a work/life balance. I'd say it shows a better mindset than my generation has where working a 60-70 hour week is a badge...
halbert, that's great news! So glad to hear it! Mike...
Best of luck with your recovery!...

I think it all depends on what you're going there for. I have a cousin who had excellent treatment and results for ovarian cancer. I don't know of anyone who's been there for Prostate cancer though....

Great post and well needed. Shared decision making SHOULD be a big part of the journey to PCa wellness, but sadly, it isn't always the case. Let's be honest, some doctors are pushy, and some patients...

Great news Yooper! I hope you can get the boat in the water soon!...
dp, I was treated using SBRT as well at a year younger than you are. Yes, I lost most of my ejaculate, but orgasms are as intense as ever. I have had no issues with ED. Things are "different" (it's...
My original uro pushed robotic surgery on me, and never mentioned I had other options. I had done my homework and brought it up the other options to him. He seemed insulted, especially when I...
Ed, I'm very sorry to hear about your Dad. Some of the guys who know a lot more about those medications will no doubt weight in today. Once again, my condolences for the loss of your Dad. Mike...
Frack, Best of luck with whatever treatment you chose. I was 53 at DX and was given the "younger men heal better/faster" talk by my urologist at the time, who happened to be a surgeon. I did a lot of...
Joey, Sorry you have to be here, but you've found a great bunch of guys. You have time to think this through in my opinion. As has been said already, it doesn't hurt to get another opinion from a...
