Very low for my age....
So i am currently on active surveillance. Both my urologist at John Hopkins and my urologist in Canada wants me to have another MRI in the next 6 months. My PSA is still hovering around 7.5. Quick...
Absolutely do not stop rinvoq during a cold or a flu. There is simply no reason to do that....
Skyrizi is currently more for Crohns. I would look at rinvoq as your next step if you could. It has been found to be very effective for UC....
So my urologist at John Hopkins says, The good news is the biopsy was ALL NEGATIVE FOR CANCER and there were only a few tiny areas of suspicious perhaps for a low grade prostate cancer but NOT...
I don't think there is a real correlation between a flare and exercise. Yes, exercise causes inflammation but it certainly does not cause the colon to bleed. I am in my mid 50's and continue to...
Saw my local Canadian urologist. He says the pathology reports indicates there is currently no Pca. That I should take another PSA in 6 months and come and see him. He isn’t sure why my PSA is so...
They were done at John Hopkins...
Prostate tissues with small focus of atypical glands, highly suspicious of low grade carcinoma. Although these findings are highly atypical and suspicious of for adenocarcinoma , there is...
Got my report late this afternoon. Says that I have a positveP540S in two locations but that it doesn’t necessarily equate to cancer? I think this is good news? Thanks for the concern and help from...
It has been a week since my biopsy and nothing on my charts. Should I call? My urologist is away for two weeks. Should I have any comfort in my urologist saying, “ I think this is much ado about...
Had my biopsy today. Excellent urologist at John Hopkins. Was much easier than I anticipated. He says after looking at the ultrasound and MRI images while doing the biopsy he felt the areas of...
Thanks for the feedback. I am aware that I most likely have PCa. Crazy that I have to go to John Hopkins for a biopsy but we simply don’t have a perineal method for biopsy anywhere in Canada. I am...
My prostate size is approximately 33cc volume. My PSA was at 3 years ago. I didn’t have another PSA test since 2020. Really my fault not my doctors....
I am going next week to John Hopkins for a perineal biopsy. Anything i should be focused on asking the urologist prior to the procedure? Considering I am returning to Canada following the procedure...
You could try a second biologic like Stelera and see if the two combined could help?...
I do hear amazing things about skyrizi. And if Marla Dubinsky and the Sinai folks think it is good I would try it for sure....
Thanks. I hope to get it done in the next few weeks. They may want to delay a little longer because I am currently on anticoagulants for a weird blood clot. Would I get a consult with the John...
So my Canadian gastro wants to have me go John Hopkins for a a perineal biopsy. I have ulcerative colitis and my meds make me more suspect to infection and hence the no rectal biopsy. He also said...
the problem now is that the gastro wants me to continue the blood thinner until such time i stop using rinvoq. i have no interest in that and will get a second opinion if this is required....
no you can be on blood thinners with UC. i am in full remission. Clots can happen for several reasons. One may have been that i had knee surgery last year and my knee was inflamed still. Who knows....
Well interesting timing. I have been on Rinvoq for 2 years with good success. I have no side effects at all. Woke up on Sunday with a sore calf. It worsened on Monday and lo and behold I have a blood...
Had another PSA and it is even more elevated now a month later at 8.5. I am seeing the top urologist in my neck of the woods in Canada. Not in panic but want to get informed about my options. Where...
Thanks to everyone. It is interesting that resolution or determination of one’s status is not immediate like in the ulcerative colitis world. My urologist wants to get a 3 month and 6 month PSA. I...
I am a little concerned the urologist wants to wait a couple months for another PSA. Do you think I should push for the biopsy? Thanks...
PiRad 3. Rad who I know says it was close to a 2. Time to go to the urologist for a biopsy I guess....
Pratoman, Is a PSA that drops from a 8 to a 7 in 10 days really a drop or just two samples that are both high? Thanks...
Saw a urologist today. Had another PSA (10 days post my last one) prior to my visit this afternoon. PSA went down from a 8.2 to a 7. Urologist did a DRE and said it was normal. I am going for a MRI...
Not sure how pred impacts the prostate but it is a nasty drug. The new biologics are way less damaging to your entire body than pred. Actually prednisone wasn’t even effective for me personally....
Thanks everyone. If someone came to me and said they had blood in stool combined with urgency I would say you have a 65% chance of crohns/colitis versus other causes. What would you realistically say...
Thanks folks. If you ever are lucky enough to get ulcerative colitis please come to me for the low down. So I will get my DRE. If it is normal should I push for a biopsy? How about a MRI? Is it too...
Thanks to everyone. I am 56 years of age....
Yes. I will be all over it. Should I refrain from cycling for a few days and get another PSA test early next week when I see my doctor or should I wait before I test again? Thanks...
Hello Everyone, I am a regular on the Ulcerative Colitis thread. I have UC but am currently in remission via excellent meds. Just got some blood work done and my PSA came in very high at 8. In think...
Sorry to hear about the relapse. I know personally how frustrating that is. I will say that you should not be too discouraged because there are so many options for you to move to. And perhaps you...
One is really interesting is how effective rinvoq is with patients who are not naive to biologics. That is very promising....
Stelera can take a very long time for its full effectiveness to kick in. I would say out of the new meds it could be one of the slowest....
I have taken both. Xeljanz and Rinvoq both are fantastic and act very quickly. I lost response to Xeljanz and then had success 5 months later with Rinvoq. I think the standard of care now due to...
I take Stelera. Absolutely no issue with constipation....
No. I don’t get sick more easily in any way. In face I think I got sicker on remicade as a stand alone....
Stelera can be relatively slow. In fact many have a late reaction to it, as in 8-10 weeks....
Sorry I just read about the concerns. You should be fine to retake it. If you want to go on Stelera be aware it takes longer to be effective then Rinvoq....
Should be no reason it wouldn’t work again. I am on it currently. Didn’t know there was an issue with pregnancy and JAK inhibitors....
Yes, I am Mr. Combined Therapy. I use rinvoq and stelera. Not sure which is doing the real job. I was on xeljanz for a year and half. Put me in complete remission. Then I flared badly for 4 months....
I did 35 sessions of HBOT a year and a half ago. I went 1.5hrs at 2.5pst. Not sure if it was the medications (stelera) or the HBOT that brought me out of my flare. There is an interesting research...
so yo were in remission from Rinvoq but because of insurance you are now taking Zeposia?...
yes, all the best luck. I am on both Stelera and Rinvoq. I have no idea which one is working or they are working in combination. I don't plan to alter anything after being in remission for over a...
Reinduction can work but she is already on it once a month. I almost got reinduced but instead added a second biologic, Rinvoq. The combination seems to be very effective for me and I have been in a...
Zeposia is fast working and effective for first time biologic users. Rinvoq and Xeljanz are also fast acting and probably used more often currently then Zeposia. I guess the question is the...
There are numerous meds left in the tool box if remicade doesn’t work for you. We are all very lucky to live today with many different mechanisms for us to reduce our inflammation via biologics. If...
