The OP's question was using fiber during a flare When in a flare and you wish to add fiber to your diet, soluble is a better bet as it's much gentler on your fragile GI tract than insoluable fiber......

Both oral and rectal are obviously always a good combo, but between Lialda and Pentasa in your case and as your physician advised, Pentasa should do a better job of helping you as described above......
I don't know anything about orange soda but I do know Pentasa has a better dispersion system than other oral 5asa's and should help your specific situation...
