I am on Remi and Imuran. If you are experiencing issues w/ Imuran, talk w/ your GI about coming off of it. However, if it was keeping you in remission, I would think twice about coming off of it....
Remember to hydrate. Sounds silly, but us with UC really need it, especially if you are having D. I try and have a bottle of water / juice with me at all times....
Same here. Try and stick with it, if you can. I also changed GIs recently and they put me back on Imuran as well. In fact, he was confused as to why I was ever taken off Imuran before starting...

Yes, it can be genetic. In my case, no one in my family had UC, but they do have IBS. Also had some elderly relatives sometime ago die of colon cancer. Good luck to both you and your father. I hope...
