I was taking it successfully for 1.5 years. Was symptom-free. Last month, I started having symptoms again and am very bummed. Talking with my doc about switching to a new biologic....
I started Stelara mid-year last year and Janssen CarePath copay assistance covered me for all of my home injections (after the first infusion). This year, I have already exhausted the CarePath copay...
Basically $80 for the four weeks to see if this helps. So, hoping there are some on here that have tried it....
Has anyone tried this? Have you had good results? Any concerns with any of the ingredients? https://www.bhherbalsolutions.com/product/heal-ulcerative-colitis-naturally/ ...
Thanks, all! Got my Stelara infusion 4/1 and have my first self injection coming up 5/27. Have been tapering off pred and doing pretty well. Hoping this all works out....
Also just started Stelara. First infusion last week with no issues! Tapering off pred and feeling great! Has anyone had any problems getting the Janssen Carepath discount?...
Thanks so much! And, congrats!...
Thanks!...
From my doc: "Humira has more risks than Stelera - risk of Lymphoma, Psoriaform rash, and sepsis. I tend to reserve that for 2nd line now. Entyvio would be my preferred agent over Stelera in...
Hmmm... Thanks. I will ask him....
After being able to avoid biologics until now, my doc is starting me on Stelara. I understand that, after the first infusion, you can inject at home and that the injector is similar to an Epi Pen?...
Thanks, all. On the bright side: a) I'm home during this time and don't need to explain things to co-workers b) I hit my insurance deductible and max-out-of-pocket and all my UC meds are now FREE!!...
Thanks, Susie....
Welp, a cyst that I discovered on my neck a couple months ago and that they thought was just a cyst, turned out to be oropharyngeal cancer. Wonderful. Had a neck dissection and now I'm scheduled for...
You need to discuss this with your doctor. You shouldn't make taper decisions without his/her input, IMO....
Good luck and get well soon!...
Definitely blurred vision for me. Not so much the other things....
Mine took about a week for any results. Tapering is going slowly, too. Had to bump it back up once so far. But, I am MUCH better than I was before I started about a month ago....
Hi, Yes I am on this trial. Have been for 2 and a half years. I am doing really well on it. Been in remission the whole time. Although getting off the Pred was a bit of a rollercoaster. but fine...
I am so glad that the prednisone I am on is working right now! I'm down to twice a day which is convenient during these times of hoarding....
Thanks, Sara....
Finally got my taper schedule. One week at 35mg, next week at 30mg, then 25mg, etc. 8 weeks to taper. If I'm back to my normal at that point, we're good. Else, looks like I'm trying Entyvio or that...
He doesn't like Remicade, probably due to side effects....
My GI suggested I should try one of these next, as mesalamines are no longer working: Entyvio, Stelera, or Xeljanz. Are you guys still getting good results on Entyvio?...
Is anyone on here part of this trial that is in Phase 3? My GI said that, after I taper down from my pred, if my symptoms recur, he could add me to the trial. Sounds promising:...
After being on 40mg pred for 2 weeks now for the first time, the only side-effects I have experienced are dizziness and occasional heartburn. Going to the doc tomorrow to hopefully start the taper,...
Your doc let's you go 6-7 years?...
One week at 40mg so far. Definitely feeling much better. Mostly blood-free, and stools are better. Last two nights I've had heartburn. Seems odd that this would hit 12+ hours after taking the meds....
Excellent. Just got the Jansenn CarePath Remicade Savings Program card the other day, just in case I need it....
Thanks. Thought so. Just a money grab, it seems....
Wow, I'm in a similar boat. 2 yrs of remission until my most recent scope that said "all good". 40mg Pred is working for me after a week. Hoping to start tapering in another week....

So, after being on a pred for a week, definitely feeling much better. Blood is minimal, and stool is mostly formed. Dr. said he wanted me on the 40mg for two weeks, then he'd want to see me in the...
I know that the Calproctectin test doesn't allow them to biopsy, but certainly seems like a good way to know whether you have inflammation. I'm going to try to spread the colonoscopies out, with...
Well, after taking my 3rd dose this morning, I had my first solid poo in months! Yeah! Still some blood, but making progress! Anyone else feel a little light-headed on pred?...
Had a CDiff test to rule it out. Just a bad flare that coincidentally started with the colonoscopy....
My colonoscopy was Nov 18th. The pred seems to be helping. Interestingly, the scope came back saying "no active disease"! Flare ever since. Worst one in a while, so trying pred for the first time....
Hey! Will my hair grow back in on my bald head while I'm on pred??...
After being in remission for over two years, I've been in a flare since the day of my latest colonoscopy. Do others experience this? Really frustrating!...
Who sells the 365 brand?...
Thanks. As it is the weekend, I don't actually know his plan. Since they are 10mg pills, it could be that he will taper me down from 40mg before I use these all up. Hope to hear from him tomorrow....
So, my doc just prescribed pred for me. Yeah! 40mg/day for four weeks. I guess he'll see how I'm doing on it, then we'll discuss the taper plan. Question: I'm not a breakfast person. Would taking the...
My doc is recommending an 8wk course. Is that typical?...
@Sara14, thanks. Do you know which biologics come out cheapest with the copay assistance?...
My doc is REALLY hesitant to let me try Pred. All the mesalamine products are failing, as is Uceris. With a $6K high deductible plan, the bio's are not a financial option for me. He said it would be...
Mesalamine products aren't working for me right now. All other options are SO expensive (with my high-deductible plan). Imuran is cheap! I see there are serious side-effects. What's the general...
Not sure about US generic, but here's the link for Salofalk at NW Pharmacy: https://www.northwestpharmacy.com/product/canasa-suppositories...
I paid $88 (plus shipping) for 30 Salofalk (1000mg) from Northwest Pharmacy a month ago,...
Is there a reason for people with diagnosed UC to get that test? My doc says it is not a good substitute for colonoscopies....
